BYU Baseball Preview 2015

Head Coach Mike Littlewood had a great first year in 2013, leading the BYU Cougars Baseball team to a 32-21 record. Last year things weren't as smooth and the team had a reversed record, 22-31. While the media expects BYU to finish 7th in the conference, BYU has the potential to finish much higher.

Tanner Chauncey and Kolton Mahoney return after being selected in the MLB Draft. The talented Jarvis Jones and Dillon Robinson return at catcher and first, respectively. The team has nice depth at several positions, including but not limited to catcher, shortstop and pitcher. Several of BYUs pitchers can throw in the 90s.

Coach Littlewood said this year there were "no team captains" selected, since the team leadership is so strong. One of his principle goals is "to get to Regionals" this year.

The Cougars started the season on Friday, February 13 with a loss against UC Santa Barbara to open the four game series. A series against a ranked Nebraska squad and then Oklahoma follow.
