2014 Boise State Preview

Yes, gone is Chris Petersen (to Washington), but the Broncos should still be set for a pretty good year. Coach Bryan Harsin was at Boise a few years ago as Offensive Coordinator. I expect the offense to be great but not superb. Quarterback Grant Hedrick will be the last quarterback to have been at Boise State the same time Kellen Moore was. Hedrick stepped in mid 2013 as the starter and showed some potential.

Runningback Jay Ajayi is probably the star of the team, but other players aren't far behind. The Broncos again should form a solid wide receivers unit. The questions on the team are offensive and defensive lines; however, those positions look to be okay. The linebackers and secondary are pretty loaded, so the defense is depending on the performace of the linemen.

2014 Schedule

Ole Miss (Thur, Aug 28 in Georgia Dome)
I think Ole Miss has a lot of potential this year. In fact, I think that the team will be able to defeat either LSU, Auburn or Alabama. I don't suspect that it'll win everything, but Ole Miss Should end the season high in the national rankings.
L 28-19

Vs Colorado State
The Broncos should win, but I don't think it'll be easy, regardless of this being a home game.
W 21-14

At Connecticut
It'll be tough to trabel to the east again, especially if Boise really does lose vs Ole Miss. Boise gets out of Connecticut with a close victory.
W 30-24

Vs UL Lafayette
There are several games for Boise that will be tempting to overlook, and this could be one of those. UL Lafayette has an experienced QB, but it will be tough for them to stop Boise's offense.
W 37-20

At Air Force
Air Force has lacked success in recent years. They could improve a little this year.
W 32-21

At Nevada
Nevada is generally a threat to the Broncos. With Senior QB Cody Fajardo and a home game, Nevada has another opportunity to defeat the Broncos.
L 29-24

Vs Fresno State
Now, Boise State has four home games where there is the possibility to be defeated: Fresno State, BYU, San Diego State and Utah State. Boise falls here, but they'll likely meet up again. L 31-28

Vs BYU (Friday)
BYU sent off Boise last year with a 37-20 victory. Although BYU is probably better, playing on the Blue can be difficult. Boise has a chance to surprise the Cougars.
W 21-16

At New Mexico

W 48-17

Vs San Diego State
The Aztecs have won two consecutive meetings against Boise State, but probably won't win again this season.
W 27-21

At Wyoming

W 34-24

Vs Utah State
Boise State didn't have to face Chucky Keeton with Utah State in Logan last year. If he stays healthy, this could be a very difficult game.
W 17-14

Mountain West Conference Champeonship Game
(V Fresno St) I think the Broncos get revenge against Fresno the second time.
W 38-32

Record at the end of the Regular Season

10-3
