Major League Baseball's 2014 Season is probably going to be the most competitive season in years. Most of the league's teams appear to have a lot of bright spots in 2014. Admittedly, the season has already started, but it's still early enough to preview the year!
New York Yankees- Derek Jeter returns for his last year, and the team should be set to make it a good one. The additions of Carlos Beltran and the new Japanese ace pitcher Tanaka should be enough to make up for the loss of Robinson Cano and a few other players.
Detroit Tigers- Prince Fielder left Detroit for the Rangers, but the Tigers are still in great shape offensively, and their pitching staff is talented.
Texas Rangers- The Rangers could have a hard time winning their division, which got better with the added power the Mariners gained. The team is quite capable, but may need improved pitching to get it done.
Boston Red Sox- The defending World Series Champions should still be very good, but a repeat is unlikely with the tough American League East competition and loss of a few players. The Yankees were weaker last year and will present a challenge to Boston in 2014.
